How it works
Every matchup uses each country’s current estimated population from the UN World Population Prospects 2024, the same dataset behind the live counters across this site. Only countries above one million people appear, so the comparisons stay meaningful. It’s a surprisingly hard test of how well you know the world: most people are amazed how populous countries like Ethiopia, Vietnam or the Philippines really are.
